The King addressed the 1 troops, and congratulated and encouij aged them. ' The King's visit to the Army is proving most interesting, and may possibl/ be prolonged for some days.' (Rec. General Joffre travelled to the meeting especi--1 ally from the Eastern frontier. He expressed i his admiration for their fighting quali- . ties. He had an enthusiastic reception I from tho troops. ! PRINCE OF WALES IN THE FIELD. (Rec. December 4, 11.40 p.m.) London, December 4. 'A! military, correspondent, describing the way in which the Prince of Wales . is carrying out his duties at the front, mentions that keenness, modesty, and energy are conspicuous among his qualities. • He has been under fire, and has visited the trenches, including the Indians. "A more zealous and indefatigable officer does not servo with the King's troops," adds this correspondent. ' . • THE KAISER'S MOVEMENTS. . (Rec. December 4, 9.35 p.m.) : Amsterdam, December 3. An official message from Berlin states ' that the Kaiser inspected the AustroGermaJi troops at Czestochowa. ■ "A CERTAIN NAVAL MISHAP" WAS THERE CONCEALMENT OF ;. fact? (Reo. The "Morning Port," in a leading, article on what it describes, as a "certain British naval mishap a«ionth old," declares it (the mishap) has been discussed by the American Press and also in Germany, where the newspapers are gloating over the mishap and its concealment by Britain. The "Morning Post" declares that the position' is "ridiculous and humiliating, and an insult to the nation.";
