ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY

The thirteenth' annual report ■of the Eoyal Humane Society of New Zealand states that during the past year 88 applications for awards have been duly investigated, 34 of which were found worthy of recognition. Slater, V.D.; vice-presidents, ■ the Mayors of Christchurch, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington. Timaru, Nelson, Wanganui. Invercargill, Greymouth, Oamaru, Westport, Palmorston North, and New Plymouth; directors, Mr. E. C. Bishop, Canon W. S. Bean, Eev. E. Eliott Chambers, V.D., Mr. H. B. Kirk, Dr. C. J. Kiissell, Mr. J. A. TTrostick, Colonel Snow, YD., and Colonel Slater, V.K.; lion, treasurer, Mr. Edward Smith; hon. auditor, Mr, W. Jameson; secretory, ex-superintendent E. Smith.
