THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY
The British T-H (Thomson-Houston) Electric Co., Ltd., of Rugby, had, up to September 10, contributed 900 men to the British Army, a number which represents 50 per cent, of the employees eligible for service. The company intends to pay half-wages to those who enlisted whilst on active service, and 011 the cessation of hostilities will, wherever possible, reinstate tie men in their former positions. Lord Kitchener wrote a special letter of thanks to thecompany, expressing his appreciation of its treatment of the men who had answered the call. Siemens Bros, and Co., an Anglo-German firm, which is very solidly established in England, contributed over 200 men, and is paying full wages to married men and halfwages to single men on active.service in addition to keeping all situations open.
