ATHLETIC SPORTS.
OLD BOYS' DAY AT WELLINGTON COLLEGE. "Old Boys' Day" was observed at Wellington College yesterday, when the grounds were thrown open to past pupils and their friends. Though the day was not, celebrated on quite such a largo scale as it was last year, several hundred people were present during the course ot the afternoon, the number including many ladies. Competitions in swimming and shooting were held in the morning, and while the Old. • Boys triumphed in the swimming relaj; race, the present pupils proved superior on the rifle range. The afternoon was devoted to cricket. In all four games were played, and the leading match, of which the scores are given below, was drawn. At the close of the day the pupils lined up and gave three hearty cheers for the Old Boys, who returned the compliment: Results of the competitions are as follow

RIFLE SHOOTING. Rifle Shooting Competition (10 shots at 200 yards).—Present Boys won by 28 points. Old Boys: Eves, 40 points; Marshall, 39; Sutherland, 38; Focke, 33; Smith, 30; Quick, 29,; Fenton, 20; Reeves, 20. Total, 249 points.
