A patriotic meeting •in connection with the recruiting movement, held in tho Garrison' Hall, Dunediu, on Thursday, evening, says a Press Association telegram, was crowded with an enthusiastic audience. The Mayor presided, and stirring speeches wore delivered by prominent citizens .and tho recruiting officers present. In response to an invitation from the chairman, twenty-six young mcn present enlisted, and fifty others, who had just enrolled, appeared on the platform, and were given a rousing reception. The Hon. J. Allen's announcement concerning oklpr men for Samoa, to replace the present troops, was enthusiastically received.
