PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA.
The last concert of the year by, the Wellington Professional Orchestra took place at His Majesty's. Theatre,', last, night before a orowded audience. uSclmbort's /.'Unfinished Symphony," played almost perfectly on the previous•■ Sunday, was again rendered with the same delicacy and finish. Another capital number was the overture to "Rienzi" (Wagner), a very iino heavy piece,- -hi; which tho brass was particularly good. The overture, which embodies some of the' chief themes of the opera, 'traa capably handled by the' orchestra, and rendered with splendid dynamic effecte" "The Swing Song". (Barns); in which' Mischa Elnian lias become famous, and Belnecko's "Vorspiel," , mainly ' for strings, were two attractive items,' and the programme was completed by.Verdi's "Triumphal March" (Egyptian Opera), "The March of the.
