(By Telegraph.— Special Correspondent.) m, Palmerston N., November 27. Ihe Philosophical Society at its annual meeting on Thursday evening elected the following officers President, Mr. J. W. Poynto.i; vice-presidents,. Messrs. M. A. Elliott and J. L. Barnicoat; officer in charge,of the observatory, Mr. Salmond; secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. Wilson;', council, Miss Ironside, Messrs. J. E. Vernon H D. Skinner, R. Gardner, W. Park, J. B. Gerrard; auditor, Mr. W. E. F. Bengali. 'lho society proposes to extend tho local museum by adding a section for New Zealand products,- under the suggestion and supervision of Mr. T. W. Kirk, of the Department of Agriculture. ■
