PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA.
FINAL CONCERT. If there is a musioal body in Wellington' -which soundly deserves support it is the Wellington. Professional Orchestra. Without this capable body of musicians orchestral music would be a dead letter in Wellington altogether, but thanks to its very excellent performances—which are necessarily restricted to Sunday evenings—the public is able to enjoy classio and good popular music played by the best orohestra in Now Zealand at less coat than the front seats at a picture show. The Professional Orchestra, which has ma<3o giant.Btrides under the baton.of Mr. Herbert Bloy, showed, its quality on Sunday evening last, when it gave a refined and polished interpretation of Schubert's beautiful "Unfinished Symphony," oneof the most appealing "scraps" of orchestral musio known to the world, and those who wore not fortunate enough to be present certainly missed a treat. Owing to the war the' orchestra has nut been attracting such large audiences as was the case early in tho soason, and the committeo in order to pull up arrears have arranged to give, an extra concert at His Majesty's Theatre on Sunday evening next, when a bumper house is expected. The programme will include tho "Unfinished" of imperishable fame, tho Vorspcil from "King Manfred" (Rcincoko), the- inarch from "Aida" (Verdi), the Barcarollo from "Tho Tales of Hoffman" (Offenbach), the popular "Turkish Patrol" (Micliaelis), and tho overture to "Rienzi" (Wagner).
