NEW ENEMY WORSE THAN BATTLES London, November 25. An eye-witness of the operations in Flauders in a letter dated Monday, says that the cold is'.affecting both sides moro than tho c-perations. Men are no longer suffering tho misery of mud and slush but at night in the trenches many become stiff from cold and have to be carried out. Others have been taken to hospital with frostbite. Aviators after reconnaissances uavo to bo lifted out of their machines. A correspondent in North Franco says that moro sick than wounded aro reaching the hospitals. Tho cases are mostly of frostbite, dysentery, and rheumatism, and a few of pneumonia. Tlie hardiness of tho Allied troops, however, is remarkable. : ■ The "Lokal Anzieger" announces that the Gorman and Austrian armies have established winter headquarters in Franco, Flanders, Galicia, and PuJand and Prussia. The Kaiser has issued an exhortation, still promising tho troops ultimate victory.—-("Timcii" and Sydney Somces,).
