THE KOMAGATA MARU INCIDENT
GERMAN INTRIGUE ALLEGED . (Reo. November 26, 11.25 p.m.) Vancouver, November 26. Mr. Stevens, Federal member, , announces that evidence has reached him that the Germans fomented tho Komagata Maru incident, and incited Canadian Hindus to rise against the British Government.
The Japanese steamer Komagata Maru, under charter, arrived at Vancouver last year ,with a large number of Hindu immigrants on board.' The Canadian authorities, refused to allow them to enter Canada, tho Hindus declined to go back, and the steamer remained for a time in Vancouver, during a period of tense feeling, in which political pressure was exerted to the utmost to embroil the Indian Government and the India: Office in a difficulty with the Canadian Government. Tho matter finally ended with the departure of the Komagata Marff'for India. . -
