One of the chief, participators was concerned in tho South African war scandals. Mr. 11. Baiter Financial Secretary to the War Office retorted that tho rumours wore merely ooiifunod versions of >6omathin£ which - had not hajjjjßJied.
The contracts branch of the War Office was well organised and had expert civilian assistance. Mr. A. Henderson (Labour member for Durham) stated that a firm which was mulcted in heavy damages during the.Boer War was still supplying goods. He undertook to give the name of the firm.
