DALGETY AND CO.'S DIVIDEND. Tho Now Zealand superintendent <;f Messrs. Dalgety ami Company, Limited, has received a cablo message from London to the effect that tho .annual meeting of the company wan held In London on Friday, and wag in every way most satisfactory. A dividend of 4s. per share lifts been declared, being at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum, and making with the interim dividend already declared and paid 8 nor cent, for the year ended June 30. The dividend will be paid to shareholders on the Colonial Hegister on and after November' 25. The sum of £10,000 was transferred to the Benevolent Fund, and £197.014 carried forward. ..

Atkinson and Co., Ltd„ report on their weekly sale as follows:—Both poultry and pigs came forward in fair numbers, poultry selling 1 readily at last week's prices, but pigs were hard of sale owing to the continuance of dry weather, and consequent lessening of the milk supply; however, we quitted practically the whole of our entry under the hammer. We had a successful sale of implements, etc., on behalf of Mr. F. Hodgson, and we also sold a quantity of usual suudries and furniture. Nanior, November 22. The first wool sales of itho season was held in the Municipal Theatre yesterday, when over 17,000 bales wcro offered to a good attendance of buyers. In spite of tho restriction on account of tho war, tho bidding, wae spirited, and there .was an all-round increase in prices. Tho quality of the wool offered was not up to the usual standard at this time of tho year. Tho fleece was much heavier in grease, showing signs of tho dry spring. Tho easterly winds which have been experienced were responsible for the presence of much moro dust than ■ usual. Tho following is ■a comparison of prices -ruling at this sale and tho first sale last year, the figures for tho latter being given £n parentheses:— Best half bred, 13d. to Mid. (llld. to 133 d.); medium halfbred, 112Sd. to 123 d. (10R to lid.); fine crossbred. .Hid. to 13d. (10d. to Hid.): medium croSßbred. 10ld. to 113 d. AUCKLAND WOOL SALES. Auckland, November 22. Between eleven and twelve thousand bales have been catalogued for Thursday's wool sale, which constitutes a record. The duality la good, and high prices are expected. . ,

The .Incorporated Society of Meat Importers' Smlthfield market Quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not loss than ' one- hundred carcasses of mutton or lamb, or twenty-five quarters of beef, of fair average quality. The quotations are not for. selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of the shipments now on. the market. The prices which follow are on the average a farthing per lb. more than the values ex 6hip, this difference representing tho average cost. in expense, handling, conveyance, and selling of the meat:— Mutton—Canterbury, 4 15-16 d.: Southland and North Island, .best brands; 4 13-16 d.
