CHILD'S SAD DEATH. Ah' inquest was held on Saturday before Mr. D. G.A. Cooper, S.M., on tho little girl Amy Winifred Hollis, aged two years and three months, who diedi on Friday morning .'at .'her. parents'; house, • Luxford Street. ' Mrs. Hollis, mother of the deceased, said that ori Thursday afternoon she was. sitting at a table at her house. The childwas under the table, with a book. Witness heard the little girl making a, peculiar,-noise.' ;She found that the deceased had-taken a "Daisy Fly-killer" box, and had taken out the cork and a little • sponge, and; had drunk some of 'the contents of the box. As soon as she found out what-the child had done she gave it,some salt and'w&tcr, and sent for the'doctor. The child was sick, and had' recovered somewhat when the doctor, came. The doctor advised what was to be done then, and his instructions had been carried out. The child died early the following_ morning.; After medical-evidence by Dr. Perkins had ■ been. given, a verdict was returned that death was due to arsenical' poisoning,' accidentally taken from the tin of "Daisy Fly-killer." ,:; ; OTHER CITY INQUESTS. Ah inquest was also held .before Mr. D. G-. A. 'Cooper. S.M., into the sudden death of Mrs. Hosina Healey. After hearing the evidence of Dr. Fyffe, a verdict was returned that death was caused by shock, due to concealed hemorrhage.
