The Now Zeal and Loan and Mercantile Agency Co,. Ltd., report having held a successful clearing sale of dairy cows, etc., on account Mr. H. T. Avery, Whareroto, Kahutara, on Tuesday last. There was a pood attondnnea of buyers, and compe-tition-was fairly keen throughout the sale. The herd of 70 cows wae disposed of at prices which must be considered highly satisfactory, considering the season of the year and the dry weather. Tlicy made from £4 for thrce-teaters to £13 10a. for sound, averaging £7 ss. Dry cows brought from £5 I<6. to £7 25.; cows and calves, £6; bulls, from £5 to £5 10s.; 20 tons hay, £3 Is.-to £3 36.; while the sundries sold at full clearing sale rates.
