A TRIAL BY COURT-MASTIAL . 'ALLEGED USE OF WIRELESS. London, November 17. A court-martial has been opened at Woolwich in the case of Harold Fochtenhorgor, charged with possessing a wireless apparatus. Accused admitted owning the apparatus found at his residence at Thorpe Bay. Tho police found a powerful eleotrio Morse lamp at a house overlooking tho sea- at Southend which the prisoner's aunt occupied. NATURALISED BANKER. London, November 17. Replying to a question in the Houso of Commons, Mr. M'Kenna (Home Secretary) stated that Baron Bruno von Schroder (sonior partner in the banking house of J. Henrv Schroder and Co., Lcadenhall Street, London) was naturalised on August 7, and that Julius Rittershausen, a prominent member of Schroder's lirm, was naturalised on September 28.. Mr. M'Kenna said he was satisfied that it was advantageous to the publio to grant them certificates. Replying to further questions, Mr. M'Kenna stated that 145,000 aliens had been interned in concentration, camps. Twenty-eight thousand are still at large. ALIEN ENEJIIES AT LAW. London, November' 17. The Judicial Committee of the House of Lords postponed an appeal by the* Gold Ore Treatment Company, of West Australia; versus tho Golden Horseshoe for a fortnight, the point being raised that Goepener and Wittner, registered as the legal owners of certain patents, were alien enemies. Their Lordships suggested that evidence should be filed as to Goepener and Wittner's actual relations with the London Hamburg Gold Recovery Company prior to the action and now. RUBBER COMPANY DIRECTOR ARRESTED. Melbourne, November 18. Edward Edwards, otherwise Eichongruen, managing director of the Continental Caoutchouc and Gutta Percha, Company, has been arrested and-intern-ed by the military authorities. ' RECENT RAIDS IN MELBOURNEA. SEQUEL. Melbourne, November 18. H. Goldman, trading as Bernard and Co., has issued a writ claiming £3000 against the "Herald" for allGgel libel contained in a report of the military raids.
