PRESIDENT WILSON AND PEACE PROPOSALS
REPORTED CONVENTION OF AMBASSADORS Washington,-November 17. President Wilson has made- the United States' attitude clear with, regard to peace proposals: The President has declared that the American / Government cannot, press for peace ■until one of the belligerent parties formally asks therefor. The "United States, is willing to join in concerted action .by other neutrals, but ill tends to refrain from taking any initiative itself. ITALIAN AMBASSADORS' SUMMONED TO ROME. London, November 17. The "Exchange" and "Telegraph"; correspondents state that the Italian Ambassadors in Groat Britain and Austria, and other leading' Powers have been summoned to Eome for a personal consultation with the King, Signor Salandra (tho Italian Prime Minister), and Sisnor Sunnino (Minister- of Foreign Affairs).
