REPORTED END OF TWO GERMAN SUBMARINES
SUNK IN THE CHANNEL (Rec. November 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 14. . It is stated in naval Wireless circles at Dover that two German submarines, which were recently carrying out a daring .reconnaisance in the Channel, have been destroyed. The first one saved its power, by remaining on the sea-bed for a lengthy period. Bubbles were noticed one calm' day at the end of October, arid dragging vessels were hurriedly collected and dragged: the sea with powerful chains, to which the explosives were attached. A heavy explosion resulted, followed by the rise of a large quantity of oil..
The second submarine, which had been troublesome' to' the warships operating ground Nieuport', was trapped into rising under, the belief that. the '6tretch of "sea was deserted. Then the warships returned and shelled arid sank her.
