A branch of the Moderate League* will bo formed at Hastings this week. Tho following officers were elected at the annual meeting of tho Napier Sailing Club: —Commodore,.. Mr. J. V. Brown, M.P.; vice-commodoro, Mr. J. R, Shirley; rear-commodore, Mr. Vanderspect; captain, Mr. N. Anderson; vioe-captain, Mr. W. Forest; Secretary, Mr. W. Anderson. The girls of the Convent schools,.Napier, have donated £5 towards the fund for the equipment of a field ambulance. The H.B. Rowing Association, opened the season on Saturday afternoon under ideal conditions. Three races wero rowed, the winners being:—Fouroar: Napier Club; DoublifSciills: Union Club; Veterans' Four-oar: Napier.
