The control (if the metal markets, he. said, had long been to a great extent in. the hands of Germany or of corporations which, though British, have been controlled and chiefly owned in Germanv, a great part of ; the, profits thus findingtheir way into German pockets. Though precautions were taken to: prevent theproducts themselves from; reaching the: •:enemy, there was reason to believe that attempts,were.being made to trade ivith the enemy. . '
