STREET STANDS TO BE . "' ■ ABOLISHED. Drafts of some new by-laws were presented'at last evening's meeting of the Wellington City Council. Among those approved were the following:— Theatres must be opened half an hour before the commencement of the performance, and ho accessible to the public on payment of ordinary minimum advertised prices. Horses may not be taken on the Oriental Bay beach after 8.30 a.m. on Sunday. ', . • i Scales of fares must be posted in taxicabs.
The right to sell from stands in the street is done away with.
