Peers died at the Sanatorium on Saturday. The balnnce-shcfit in connection with the Hutt Valley Labour Day Carnival ivas presented at .a meeting of the-com-mittee held in Petoue, last evening and showed a credit of £12 os. Gd. Tbo receipts wore £135 9s. 3d., and the expenditure £96 6s. 9d., tho balanco being handed over to tho Local Distress Fund. The committee has - a small amount in the bank from last year's, carnival, which is to be carried forward to next Labour Day'e celebrations,
