A well-dressed young woman named Yalda Do Barra, who has been und'er police surveillance for some months past, was' yesterday .charged . in ,'the Magistrate's Court with "between April 27, and October 27, being the occupier, of premises in Vivian; Street, and knowingly permitted the premises, or a portion or them, to be used ! as a brothel.'' She was defended by Mr; P. W. Jackson, and pleaded nob guilty. \ The evidence of the police and of two civilians was that the place was ' a brothel. .One witness in particular denounced the place in very strong terms. . The Magistrate convicted accused and fined her £10; with 18s. witnesses' expenses, in default one, month's ' gaol. ■.Tvfenty-four hours was allowed in which to find the money. • , • '
