BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS
A CANTERBURY RESOLUTION. At a meeting of the Canterbury women's branch of the Bible-in-Schobls' League, held on Friday last, the' following resolution, moved by Mrs. Charles Overton, and seconded by Mrs. Georgo Way, was unanimously -carried:—The Christchuroli. "Women's Branch of the Bible-in-Schools League deeply regrets tho recent action of the Now Zealand Parliament over tho Bible-in-schooh question, but is not thereby discouraged.- Believing asthoy do that tho people of this country desire religious teaching' for their children they will not relax their efforts till this, great booivfor winch, they bave been working, has been secured—namely, the restoration of the Bible in our schools. As ~«v league they are determined, as far as lies in their power, to secure, the return, of those candidates who uro. prepared (ogive, tho referendum to the people on this question at tho first opportunity. ,
