The oldest and best--informed men in the shop do not believe' that' under- present • circumstances- a strike-over this question is within the bounds of probabilities. The Government will not mako war upon any.individual or class. This is to be a peaceful revolution, brought, about by a definite -position maintained with firmness—at least, this is. the programme.
