quent rain until anchoring at Rarotonga roadstead. A ciuantity of Island fruit was loaded liere,. the sea being moderate. On leaving Rarotonga moderate winds and sea ruled' for the first three days, then a strong wostorly gale, with very heavy sea. These unpleasant conditions lasted for 24 hours. Until arrival at Wellington there wore fresh winds, with a' heavy swell. Tlie Moana had a fairly large cargo to discharge at Wellington. Present arrangements are that the. Union steamer Corinna wEI load Nelson and New Plymouth cargo at Wellington next Wednesday. • As the Pateena's overhaul will not he completed .in time, the Mapourika will make the run'across from Wellington- for Picton and Nelson, leaving here at 5 p.m. on Monday. Messrs. Hatrick and Co. advise that the coastal steamer Tainui will load careo at Wellington , to-day for Waitara. . Having finished her work at Akaioa the Government steamer Hinemoa went on to lloeraki light and Dunedin on Wednesday. The Government training ship Amokurais expected to arrive at Timaru front Akaioa to-morrow. • The Shaw-Savill steamer Tokomaru is expected to leave Port Chalmers on November 12 to . commence Homeward loading at Napier. Subsequently the vessel will proceed to Wbangarei and , Auckland. Wellington will be visited on Doccmber ?- and departure taken from this port' for London.on December .5. , An arrival in port from Hobart direct to-day is tho Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmera. .
