———• ■ The following have been nominated as" candidates for the offioe of councillor for their respective ridings in the Featherston County, viz. :— Greytown Riding—William John Nix. Featherston Riding—Quinton Donald. Western Lake Riding—Alfred Matthews. ' Otaraia Riding—Alexander Donald M'Leod. Tauranganui Riding—Thomas Owen Heycock. Awhea Riding—Daniel' Henry Strother Riddiford. ■ . Martinborough Riding—John Martin. The above have been declared elected. No nomination was received - for the Kahutara Riding. For the Pahaoa Riding Samuel Geo. Broadbent and William M'Kay wore nominated, and a poll will be taken on November 11. Mr. T. 0. Heycock is a new member of the council, and Messrs. Broadbent and M'Kny are both new candidates. Mr. Jas. Adnmson, formerly manager of the Featherston Dairy Co., lias completed negotiations for.the lease of the Royal Hotel, and expects to take possession in February.
