CRICKET MID-WEEK COMPETITION. SEASON OPENED. The mid-week' players opened l their season on Wednesday afternoon, in perfect weather. The wickets were in good condition and in favour of the batsmen. In the Rivals-Oriental A match Wilson scored 151 by fine free cricket, although a. lucky innings. Beechey, a newcomer to _ Wednesday cricket, made 54 before falling to a fine catch by Caterer. Oriental so far have lost four wickets, of which Dempsey is top with 22 not out. In the match Oriental B-TJnion, Oriental batting first put. on 138, or which V.
