EMPIRE SHOOTING MATCHES
IMPERIAL CHALLENGE SHIELD. The results have been recoived of the annual- competitions for the' Imperial .Challenge' Shield, :l held under the auspices of. the. National Rifle Associa-' turn throughout the 'Empire. . In the senior competition some 400 teams fired, the positions' . secured by ,the New Zealand .teams which won prizes being as follow:—No. 6 Company, Boys' High Schools,.Christchurch, finished twenty-second,: with an average of. 81.7; prize '£2.'' No.' 24 Company, New Plymouth Cadets, secured twentythird place, .with an average of 79.i; prize £2. No. 11 Company, Auckland Grammar School Cadets, came thirty.eighth, with an average.of .78.4; prize £2. No. .1 Company,: Nelson College Cadets, finished' fortieth on the list, :with' an average of 78.3; prize £2. In the junior competition, about 280 teams fired. No. 2 Company) New Plymouth High School,, won seventh place, with an average of 88.7-, and. was awarded a- prize of £3. Some thirty entries were received in' New. Zealand for these matches.. .
