ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

SUPPOSED SUICIDE. 'As Richard Riddler and his brother ivoro returning along' a private road leading Irom Pitcaifcliiey's Siding (Lower Mutt) yesterday morning, they came across the body of a middle-aged man hanging suspended by a rope to the bough of a tree, in a gully about half a mile by the private road from the siding. The feet were on the ground, while a. coat.rolled lip was lying near where the bedy was.hanging. The rope round the unfortunate man's neck was similar to that used for leg-fopiiw cows. The deceased was a man of alioiit 45 years of 'age, about oft. lOin. in height, medium build; and had' apparently been dead for some weeks. Deceased was dressed in a blue dungaree suit, was wearing now tan. boots, (sizo 10), and a jacket. Nothing was found on the body to indicate who deceased was.

DEATH- FROM HEART FAILURE. . An inquest was held by Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., yesterday afternoon concerning the death of the late Mr. Harry Woodward, head waiter at Bellamy's, wlio died suddenly oiv Friday morning last. Dr. Kington Fyffe, who gave ' evidence, stated -that the cause of death was heart failure, and a verdict was returned by the Coroner to that effect.> '
