On the recommendation of Mr. K. M. The work in the intermediate level has proved the wash to Du of considerably hotter value than was. found in .the No. 6 level; which is illustrated bv tho following comparative values:— Wash from No. 6 Level (value per truck). -1914—Julv 29, -3s. Id.: August 5, 3e.; August 12, 35.; August 19,. 25.: Bd.; August 26, fij. 9d.; September 2, &s. 4d. V,'ash from intermediate, ond 7th. ' levels' (valuo ' per truck)— September' 9. 4s. Id.; September 16, 36. 4cl:; September 23. 3s. Bd.: September 50 ,3s. 4d.; October 7, 3s. 9d.: Octaber 14, 4s; 2d. The values obtained during the past six weeks are certainly payable, provided tho waeh is proved to exist over a sufficient area. Four prospecting and development drives arc being worked in Uie intermediate level, and are all in wash of pavablo value," and it Is from these drives that tho gold returns have been obtained. In the '7£li level the drive going north from the shaft lias oecn extended 369 ft., «nd[- tho- other going to the west 106 ft. These, drives arc not in the gold-bearing atiata. and no values havo been expected. Rises will be put up from tlicae drives'-to determine the values of tho layers of "ivmli thought to exist above them. The mine superintendent reports that the plant and machinery is in thoroughly good working order.
