THE KING'S THEATRE. The chief feature on this week's programme of pictures at The King's Theatre is an unusual typo of film, entitled "The Lifo of Genoral Pancho Villa." Tie picture was. taken by tho well-known Majestio Company, by arrangement with Genoral Villa, who personally figures as tho most prominent personage in the story. Tho supporting films include: "A Halt In the Jungle" (Pathe colour), "The Latest War News From Europe," aud "Hubby's Surprise" (a domestic drama). The usual Saturday matineo is announced, at which the same programme will bo shown. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. . "The Boudini Brothers," a pair of talented Italian accordion players, give an exceptionally fine musical turn on tho current programme of vaudeville at His Majesty's Theatre, in Courtenay Place. Their rendition of Rossini's overture to "William Tell" is really worth going to hear. Brown and Scobie, two coloured comedians, provide plenty of laughter, while other artists of note are: The Miltons (roller skaters), The Great Westin (protean artist), The Two Storeys, and others. EVERYBODY'S PICTURES. A big Vitagraph star drama_ "Old Reliable" is the chief feature in the excellent selection of pictures at present showing at Everybody's Pictures, in the old Opera House, Manners Street, to large crowds. The story is an appealing one, and relates a drama of great human interest. Other subjects on the programme are: "The Latest War News from Europe,'' ' 'Mack At It Again" (Keystone comedy), "On the Banks of the Dahl" (Pathe colour), and "The Missing Jewels" (drama). • MACMAHON'S NEW THEATRE. Yesterday tho excellent selection of pictures headed by the Nordisk production, "Theresa the Adventuress" and "Men of the Moment," was shown for the last time at Macniahon's New Theatre, Manners Street, and packed houses were the result. To-day.will be shown a new picture photo-play, "The Heart of a Jewess,',' a study dealing in graphic fashion with life in 'the. Jewish quarter of New York, where the majority of tho Russian Jewish immigrants are quartered. The picture has a strong plot, and-is full < f incident. It is stated to have K been enacted by tho very best Jewish actors, and to run the gamut of .all the emotions. A.6trong supporting programme is promised. THE EMPRESS THEATRE. A complete change of programme will be introduced' at th 9 Empress Theatre continuous pictures to-day and to-night. Prominent among the new subjects will be "The Great International Polo Match" (England v. America), described as the most exciting polo game ever screened, and reported to bo a fino example of kinematography. Another leading item will be.tbe Lubin "masterpiece" drama, "Granny," a powerful' study from life,., interpreted hy well-, known cinema "stars." The Aquila Co. is responsible for "The Victim of Vengeance," a cleverly-conceived dramatic sensation. There: will be a number of other, -up-to-date, films.' WELLINGTON LIEDERTAFEL. Substribers and the -public are reminded of the Wellington Liedertafel's second concert.of the present season in the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall, at 8 o'clock to-night. An excellent programme of part songs will bo rendered, most of them being speoially appropriate to the present stirring times. The society will nave the .assistance of Mr. C. H. Stephens, the well-known tenor,.and Mrs.;C. H.' Stephens, solo pianist. Seats may be reserved at tho Dresden. PATRIOTIC CONCERT. A successful patriotic concert ivas given in St. Thomas's Hall, Newtown, last evening: The programme of items was a varied'one, and that the audience fully appreciated the efforts of the performers was evidont/frora tho fact that practically every item -was encored. Orchestral items were contributed by the Wellington Gas Company's orchestra. Other ' contributors to -the programme were: Miss W. Lonsdale, and Messrs. Nuttell and W. E. Crewes, who contributed songs; Misses N. Nees and T. M'Donald,-elocutionary items; Mr. G. F. Halloway, pianoforte solo; and the Misses Reid, who performed a Scotch dance. The second half of the programme was devoted to an operetta, entitled "Seaside Lodgings." In this the following took parts:—Misses D. Flockton, M. Davies, D. Irvine, H. Talbot, and M. Wilson, and Messrs. B. Hollis,: R, Hornblow, W. M'Keon, D. 'CI. Armstrong, C. Flockton, L. Roberts, and A. Hornblow. Miss A. M'Keon acted as pianist for the operetta, ■ which •was a most-creditable and ■ enjoyabk little performance. - At the conclusion x>f the concert Bliss Wilson, who was its chief organiser, was presonted with a beautiful bouquet of roses.
