A prisoner named Harcourt, alias Hammond and Hackett, "wanted" on eeveral charges of false pretences, Was being escorted from New Plymouth to Auckland,'when he; jumped from the 2 a.m. express just after leaving To Kuiti, and escaped. He knows the country well. The police are scouring the district. '
