A LIVELY MEETING
4 STALE EGGS AND POLITICS. (By Teleirrapli.—Press Association.! . Auckland, October 30. Mr. William Storey, a young man anounced as a candidate for the Parnell seat, had a lively meeting in the- Parnell Hall last night. His voice was frequently drowned by interjections. He was describing how he would have sottied the strike when four stale eggs were thrown. This induced several of Mr. Storey's committeemen to hastily retire from the platform, but Mr. Storey proceeded with his speech amid a storm of interjections and cannonade of eggs, while fireworks were exploded,in the hall and on the platform. , Eventually, while a man was attempting to move a vote of confidence in the 6peakor the audience'sang "It's a I Long Way to Tipperary." " When asked ' to vote on the motion the audience supported it unanimously with loud oheerj trig. Eventually the candidate was seized by some of the audience and \ carried down the street into an hotel, , ; where the police stopped further horse- , I play,- __
