CITY COUNCIL

NOTICES OF MOTION. The following notices of motion appear on the order paper for this eveuing's meeting of the City Council:— By Councillor W. H. P. Barter:— "That the folloiviug resolution passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Counoil, held on July 30, 1914, be reBcinded, viz.: 'That the Wellington City Council enter into negotiations with the Wellington Harbour Board for its coneent to reclaim part of Oriental Bay, and that when such consent is obtained, if the terms thereof and the estimated cost are satisfactory to tho counoil, that the jieeessary legislation be introduced, and when passed, that the council's resolution of December 15, 1910, be, then rescinded, and the resolution be ; proceeded with and completed as 6oon as possible, and , vested in the City/for the purpose of a park and playing ground.'" By Councillor B. Fletcher:— "That the resolution passed by the Wellington City Council at a. special meeting held on October 9, 1914, apE roving tho scheme of alterations to the asin Reserve, as set out in the report of the City Engineer, dated September 2, 1914, aiid shown, on plans signed bj tho City Engineer, and dated September 21, 1914, be. rescinded." By Councillor R, A. Wright:— "That the Finance Committee take into consideration tho desirability of permitting tho use of water for garden purposes by means of a hose upon .payment of a small charge per annum, and without tho necessity of installing a met or." By Councillor H. Buddie:— "That with a view to improving Old Customhouse Street, Cornhill Street, Lombard Street, Parish Street, and St. Hill Street, a plan be prepared and submitted to tho council malting provision for straightening and widening theso streets, and that until tho council can carry out the scheme as a wholo, all applications for permits to build in the vicinity of any of theso streets as at present existing, bo reforred to tho Finaiico Committee, ""ho shall upon each application take such steps as may be then expedient to give effect to the street scheme showed on euoh Elan."
