Letters from English ebldiers at Tsinp-tad relate that recently they got to grips with the Germans, who asked for an armistice to bury their dead— which was refused. The British chased the Germans to their innermost defences. .The British casualties were slight. CHINA MAKING TROUBLE. (Reo. October 29, 0.55 a.m.) Peking, October 27. China has demanded the surrender of tho Japanese torpedo boat ond crew which entered' Chineso territorial ■waters and attempted to tow oft the wrecked ship Suo (formerly tho Russian Pobieda, 12,674 tone, of the RussoJapanese War), and substituted the Japanese flag for. the Chinose flag.
