After, a lull, the •Koenigsberg again opened fire, and in another quarter of an hour tho Pegasus was unable to reply. Nearly all the casualties occurred round the guns and on the tipper deck. The ship _ was badly holed on the waterline, and listed heavily; the fires were put out, and the vessel was moved into shallow water, and grounded forward. . Wind and tide subsequently drove her deeper into the water, and she eventually sank. The flag was twice Bhot away, and marines held it up.
