PAHIATUA NOTES.

The funeral of tha lato Mrs. Hewat, wife of Mr. T. F. Hewat, senior member of tho Pahiatua- Borough Council, Which took place on Sunday' last, was attended by sv largo gathering of town and country lesidente. Tho late Mrs. Hewat was a prominent member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Ohurch, and was a member of the choir for many years. The "shoot" held by tho Mangatainoka Gun Club, for a trophy presented by Mr. G. Oxloy, was won by Mr. J. Hughes, of Pahiatua. Mr. R. A. Williams, of Mangatainoka, has been appointed assistant han-, dicapper to the Wairarapa Oentro of the New Zealand Athletio and Cycling Union.
