HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.

An entirely new programme will be submitted by the Fuller-Brennan management' at His' Majesty's Theatre tonight, when several now artists will appear for the first time. Williams and Warner ■will submit an eccentrio musical act, which includes the "slapaphonoj". a peculiar kind of instrument which elicits a weird though most pleasing kind, of music. Foy and Foy, an Australian pair, who specialise in character sketch and ragtime 1 dancing, ivill make thSir initial bow. Mr,. Les Bates is another newcomer irifch an' American reputation as a raconteur, and he will introduce several new songs and monologues of a humorous description. Mr. Neil Cant, a Scottish comedian, who has appeared in Wellington previously, has been reengaged for a slioit return season. Tho programme will bo further strengthened by Mr. Leslie Holmes and his costume comedy company, who will submit an entirely new programme. Messrs. Brown and Leslie and the Two Storeys will complote what promises to 1)0 a strong bill. A holiday matinee will be given to-day. THE KING'S THEATRE. To-night at the King's. Theatre patrons will have ari opportunity of wit-, nessing the first Famoos.. Players' , production, introducing Miss Hazel- Dawn, the entrancing American stage favourite, in Bronson Howard's famous international romance, "Ono of Our Girls." This film teems with interest and thrilling situations, combined with tho inspiring sacrifice of a quick-witted. American girl' on behalf of her cousin, who marries a profligate French Count. The "Capture of Brussels;" which has arrived by direct mail, will also be screened. This : picture shows the Belgians watching tho German troops, with transports and wounded, entering tho capital. The Latest "War , Graphic" to hand contains many interesting "scenes, and the supporting items are: "The EverGallant -Marqiiis"; (Edison comedy), "A Mountain Pass (scenic), and "Tangled Tangoists," a fino Yitagraph comedy. A matinee will be held at 2.30 p.m. to-day.

; ; EVERYBODY'S. At Everybody's Picture Theatre in Manners Street tliis afternoon a. special holiday programme of attractive films will bo screened. To-night' a complete change' of programme is announced, which .will include as a star subject a Keystone comedy, entitled "The Knock-out." The popular Keystone comedian, commonly known us ."Fatty," as a pugilist is considered to be more than a white hope, and enters the ring with the object of defeating all comers of his own woight, or even, double, with Charles Chaplin as. referee. By direct mail the management h'avo received copies of authentic pictures giving fullest details of the capture of Brussels. The first of the series will bo screened to-day and tonight, and. shows the Belgians watchbig tne mighty army of Germans, with transports and wounded,, entering their city. There are also sevoral dramatic and scenic releases included in the programme. • "JANE EYRE."The filmic adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's famous novel "Jane Eyre" is attracting large crowds to all sessions at Macjlahon's New Theatre, Manners Street. The picture, which is a particularly fine ono; is .supported by "The Winner" (sporting drama), a Keystone comedy and other subjects. To-night will be added to the bill, "The German Army Entering Brussels," and ','Tho Ruina of Termondo." .' THE EMPRESS THEATRE.' As a special holiday attraction, a thrilling dramatic "feature" ■ production, "Called to the Front," will bo presented to-day and to-night at the Empress Theatre Continuous Pictures. 'J.iie subject, which deals with the present war, introduces scenes of the British Expeditionary Force on its way to tlie front. There will be a'big supporting programme, including comic, dramatic, and topical items. MRS. SNOWDEN'S LECTURE. Mrs. Philip Snowden; on Tuesday night will deliver her lecture on "A Peep Into Parliament Through a Woman's Eye." The lecture will possess added interest in that her husband has for over 20 years occupied a position in Parliament, while she herself has for many years been in the forefront fighting for social reforms. The proceeds will bo devoted to the No-License campaign funds. ; ORGAN RECITAL. . Mr. Bernard' Pago's organ reoital in the Town Hall on Saturday evening was particularly interesting and enjoyable. A favourite concert number in the Orchestral Prelude to "Parsifal" (Wagner)' opened the programme—a tender and beautiful one, and Mr. Page lingered over its passages almost lovingly. Another orchestral transcription given was "Elegy for Strings" (Tchaikovsky), a small but exquisite little composition which it was a 1 real treat to hear. A work by E.'d'Evry, '•'Au Soir." was played : for the first time, ana could oe heard again with pleasure. Two little works by Wesley, "Aair" and. "Govatte." were given a charming rendition, while pleasant remembrances of previous recitals were revived by "Third Rhapsodie" (SaintSaens). the "Elegiac Romance" (John Ireland), and No. 6 Fugue (Schumann). Wolstenuolme's "Finale in B-flat" concluded the programme.

The complimentary .concert tendered to Mr. Stanley Rankin by Wellington's leading concert artists promises to bo quite unusually brilliant. The programme, as now arranged, includes many and varied items, which will undoubtedly give great pleasure to the crowded house tliat is anticipated. Tho box plan is at the Dresden where 6eats may be booked without extra charge.
