Official.—The Germans still hold the Vistula south of Pilioa, except the line between Ivangorod and Kozienics, which they have abandoned, the Russians purTho Austrians failed to cross tho San River south of Jaroslav, and were repulsed, with tho Russians assuming the offensive. London, October 24, 6.40 p.m. Rusian forces have orossed tho Vistula without opposition. SUGAR IMPORT STOPPED. London, October 23. Wjth a view of crippling Germany's trado tho British Government have prohibited the importation of sugar into tho United Kingdom, and state that thoro is no danger of a shortago. Supplies aro available to ffleot several months' domand, and the price will not exceed 33d. per lb., and probably may bo further' reduced. This aotion is necessary owing to Germany selling to neutral countries, and tho latter then sending to England*
