ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

GIRL SEVERELY BURNT. Ashburton, October 12. Evelyn Irvine, 16 years of age, was severely burned at her home at Rakaia yesterday, through her dress catching alight whilo she was standing before a lire. She is in a critical condition. INFANT ACCIDENTALLY STRANGLED. Christchurch, October 22. An infant named Charles Gearscawski, residing with its- parents at Marshland, was foiind dead, hanging from its cot by a string. Tho child was an invalid, confined to its cot, and it is presumed that it fell out of the cot, and in falling got its head caught in a string which was hanging to its cot.
