In consequence of the Labour Day celebrations at Auckland on Monday, .the Hudd-art-Parker steamer Riverma will' not arrivo at that port from Sydney till Monday instead of Sunday as usual. She will loave Auckland for Sydney on the return trip on Tuesday afternoon—one day late. It Is reported that the well-known loc-ally-owned scow Echo will be put up for sale by auotion at the end of nert. month. Bho is at present laid up at Wellington. An expected arrival in port from New York, via Auckland, on Monday, October 26, is the C. and D. liner Star of Scotland. When she has completed disharge at liyttelton and Dunedin she will load in New Zealand for Homo, sailing about tho middle of next month.

An Australian cargo steamer named the ICoolinga has been fiicd to load coal at Westport. Tho Union Company's ooUier Katoa, which soiled from Westport some time ago, under sealed orders, left Newcastle for Lyttolton at 6 p.m. last Thursday. She is there to-day. , '

The Union Company's Taviuni was placed, in dock at Port Chalmers last week for overhaul. Good progress is being mode with the work of repairing the bow of the ferry steamer Maori at tho southern port, and sho ie exported to come out of dock in tho courso of d few days.
