JOB HUNTLY RELIEF FUND. Tho talented elocutionists Miss Betty Purdom and Mr. J. Culford Bell deservo tne- heartiest congratulations on tho excellent concert which they and their pupils gave in the Concert Chamber of tlio Town Hall last night, and tlio Huntly Disaster Fund should benefit considerably, as tho hall was packed to tlio doors. Miss Furdom and Mr. Eeii were, or course, the most popular perrormore of tho evening. . Tho former excelled herself ma humorous sketch erititlod "BeggEo." Miss I'urdom made tho most ot tbe coiijured-up fears of a newly-married wife whose husband is twenty minutes late in arriving homo, air. Bell gave tho '-'Graveyard Scene" from Hamlet, with good ■ effect, whiite both appeared in a comedy sketch "A Bus Ride." Of tho pupils-and quite a number performed—probably the most successful was a diminutive littlo dtunsel named Ngairo Lemmon, who tiisb.appeared in a dialogue and dancp entitled "Dainty Little Lady," with iMsster Noel Liardot, and, indeed, sho was a dainty little lady, reciting hnr lines watli a piquant charm. Later sho gave a character sketch, "Mrs. Caiidlo," in remarkably clever fashion. An older performer who showed distinct promise was Mr 11. O. Shakes, who appeared iu a 'character slieich entitled "Tlio Vagrant." ' Mastor -Leitli lliddell gave the Dickens sketch "-Squeors," and littlo Miss ThelmiT Aitkcn performed with childish confidence "P.i's Sofv Spot." Miss M'lnerney, in a humorous recitation, "Tlie Obstructive Hat," and Miss Freda Boale in a ' musical monologue, C 'A Bowl ■ of Roses." were other performers who showcd.fionsidorable talent. Zita Casey; recitation, "An Incident," Miss Gow; recitation, "Ain't You Charlie?" Maieio Russell; recitation, "The Handy Man," Mies Wiren; sketch, "Music In Our.
