The Wellington Girls' College Old Girls' Literary Club has this year had a varied and interesting programme of lectures, papers,- readings, and debates. As the club is only a winter one, tho committee 'has decided to cancel the last two meetings that appear on the programme, so that4.no further meetings will be held this-year. The committee wishes , to thank all who have' kindly assisted by giving lectures or any other help to tho club.

Mrs. H. Piper (Akaroa), who has been spending a lengthy holiday with Mrs. J. B. Brinsden, Roseneath, was farewelled by her many friends at a pleasant afternoon tea given at Miss Tendall's Tea Items yesterday afternoon. ■Mrs. Pipor returned to Akaroa by tho. southern boat last evening.
