The second rounds of the New Zealand amateur championship and professional _ match Mvero played. In the latter, W. lies, last year's winner, was beaten. To-day, tho four-ball bogey handicap was won by F. Ross and S. Morpeth,' while the tie in the Bogey Handicap between four competitors wa-s played olf, and. another tie resulted between A. D. 8. Duncan, and J. P. Lusk, it being then decided that each should take a irophy. The tie in the inter-club challenge vaee waa played oft", and was won by Auckland. .Results are as follow , :— Amateur Championship. Second Round. J.. Harold (Wanganui) beat H. T. Gillies (Hamilton), 1 up. J. Goes (Wanganui) beat L. 0. Hales (Wellington), 2 up. F. 0. Fryer (Auckland) beat J. Banks (Cambridge), 5 up and 4 to play. J. C. Burn 3 (Auckland) beat A. Seiferfc (Manawatu), 6 up and 4 to play S. Morpeth (Waihi) beat F. J. Sharland (Auckland), 2 up and 1 to play. W. B. Colbeck (Auckland) beat F. Ross (Auckland), 4 up and 8 to play. F. G. Binney (Auckland) beat W. S. Ralph (Auckland), 1 up at the nineteenth hole. A. D. S. Duncan (Wellington) beat A. W. Clouston (Waitemata) 5 up and 4' to play
Professional Match. Second Round. E. 6. Douglas CWanganui) "beat 6. F. Forrest (Invercargill), 2 up and 1 to play. J. A. Clements (Christchurch) beat N. Bell (Wellington), 8 up and 6 to play. W. M'Ewan (Masterton) beat W. lies (Christchurch), 3 up and 2 to play. J. M'Cormick (Wellington) beat H. Stewart (Napier), 4 up and 2 to play. Inter-club Challenge Vase. The tie in the O'Rorke Inter-club Challongo Vase match between Wellington and Auckland teams, was played oil: in conjunction- with the four-ball bogey handicap, nnd resulted in a win for Auckland by a margin of 5 points.
