TROUBLE .WITH FIREMEN. Sydney, October 15. The Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Maheno was unable to depart Yesterday, allegedly owing to the firemen and trimmers refusing duty. Her departure has been : indefinitely postponed. The officers of the Seamen's Union state that the men are dissatisfied with the working of the vessel, and gave twonty-four hours' notice. ." On bohalf of the company it is stated that the men; in opposition.to a''recommendation of their own executive, demanded an entirely unwarranted increase inthe manning of the Maheno. The company refused the demands and paid off all hands, and laid iip the steamer. ■ .
