HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

Tlie monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council was held on Tuesday. Thero were present: Councillors M. Welch (chairman), J. Wakeham, W. Galloway, T. Edwards, J. Whitcman, and W. J. Howell. The chairman reported that an agreement had boen arrived at with the Wellington City Council giving that body control of the- foreshore at Day's Bay and reserving the right for the county to remove gravel. Intimation was received from tho Public Works Department giving the council permission to proceed with the making of concrete, piles for the proposed "bridge across the Hutt River on the Akatarawa Road.. It was decided to refer a complaint regarding a nuisance at Plimmerton to the Public Health inspectors. In regard te a letter received from the Public Works Department, stating that it was proposed to cancel an unclaimed balance of £32 in regard to the Victoria Bridge works, it was decided to renew the application for this amount. ■ Accounts amounting to £1228 17s. Bd. were passed for payment.
