ORGANISING THE SECOND CONTINGENT CAMP COMMENCES NEXT WEEK PROVISIONAL STAFF A camp for the first reinforcements for the Expeditionary Force is to be opened on the Trentham rifle range on Wednesday next, October 21, and will be in charge of Major Potter, Camp Commandant, who filled a similar position at the Paluierston North concentration camp. Training of the Expeditionary Force proceeded yesterday along the lines laid down for the week. The Otago Battalion and the Wellington Battalion wero trained in platoon and outpost work, and the Canterbury ' Battalion went to Trentham for musketry instruction.

The mounted forces are ' exercising from the various camps. In Monday's operations at Upper Hutt the squadron or the 10th Regiment (Nelson) was commanded by Captain Talbrit during the defence of the station.
