FRENCH CLUB
The annual meeting of the French Club was held last.Friday. There was a good attendance of members. The annual report and. balance-sheet wero read and approved,- and showed the position of the club to be very satisfactory. Tho following officers were clectdd for tlie ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. Jas. Macintosh, -vice-consul tor Franco; president, Mr. A. S. Menteath; vice-presidents, the Hon. H. D. 8011, M.L.C., Captain Barclay, Messrs. W. B; Hudson, 11. F. Lattey, J. Bigg, and Madame Docleene; secretary-general, Mr. G. E.. B. Adamson; minute-secre-tary, - Madame D'eseranet-Macintosh; treasurer, Mr. C. J. Cooke; librarian, Miss-Lockie; -committee, Mesdames R. 0. Whyte, Simon, Pauli, Misses Mead and. Hind, Messrs. J. H. Chapman, J. King, and B. W. White. A hearty vote of thanks was-accorded to retiring officers,'and also to those friends who had so willingly assisted the club by delivering addresses, etc., during the past session.
