The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was held at Hastings to-day, under ideal conditions and before a fairly large attendance of the public. Some very close finishes were (witnessed. Tho amount put through the totalisator was £16,273, as com-' pared with £15,642 for the corresponding meeting last year. . . . At the instigation of the'stipendiary stewards,- in tho 'Flaxmere' Hackj for interference by Allen Doone, an inquiry was held by..the stewards, who. awarded the race to Sea Lord, Alien' Doone being placed, second ("Rules of Racing," Part XXXI, Rule 15).
