Tho theft was alleged to have been committed at Lytil Bay on October 8. -Bail was allowed in £5. : . Downey was given a chaiioe and ordered to come up.for■ sentence'when called-upon .on the underStanding that'he joined ia certain sailing vessel ho had mentioned. ■■ ■ For drunkenness Lilian-Jukes, Thos. .Moloney, Isidoro Jacabus.. and Wm. Lynch were' each fined 405., , or seven days; Alex. Williamson, 20s: or three days'; and May Houston,'Gus Nelson, and Joseph Mehent, 10s. or 48, hours. Henry Richardson, who failed to ai>pear, was fined, £I.' Timothy , Donovan denied, a charge- of drunkenness, but was convicted on the evidence and Sued £2 or seven days. Fivo first-offenders wore doalt with. . ■ May. Sidpn, who was defended, by Mr. P.. W. Jackson, was charged with importuning. She was fined 20s. or one month's gaol. Lizzie Connolly, alias Mundol and M'Cluskey, wag similarly charged. As this was her first appearance on a charge of this sort, the Magistrate fined her 10s., or seven days.
